Privacy Policy

The short version

• AI extraction runs on your compatible iPhone.
• Your school messages, child profiles, and to-dos are not sent to Mighty Yak Labs.
• Sync and household sharing use Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services under your Apple account.
• If you share a household with another adult, they can see everything in it—including the original emails, voice notes and scanned flyers your items came from.
• School Corral contains no advertising or analytics SDK.
• We do not sell personal information.

Information handled by the app

School and family content

You may enter child names, schools, grades, tasks, due dates, payment amounts, notes, scanned flyers, voice notes, and content shared from Mail. This information is stored on your device and, while you are signed in to iCloud on that device, in your private iCloud container, so it can appear on your other devices.

There is no sync switch inside School Corral. If you sign out of iCloud in the iOS Settings app, the app keeps working and your information stays on the device. An in-app toggle existed in earlier versions and was removed, because it did not do anything—it appeared to disable syncing while syncing continued regardless.

On-device AI processing

On compatible Apple Intelligence devices, School Corral analyzes captured content locally to suggest action items. Mighty Yak Labs does not receive the source message or the extracted results. Manual entry remains available on supported iPhones without Apple Intelligence.

Household sharing

If you subscribe to Premium and invite another trusted adult, you share a household with them. They can see everything in it. That includes:

• your children's names, schools, grades and other details;
• items, due dates, amounts and payment links;
• the activity history—who completed, changed or deleted what, and when;
• and the original material each item came from—the subject, sender and text of a captured email or voice note, and any flyer you scanned, including the image itself.

This applies from the moment content is captured, including while an item is still in your Review list and you have not yet confirmed it. There is currently no way to keep an individual item, or the material it came from, private from someone you share a household with. It is worth thinking about before scanning a document that contains another family's details.

If someone leaves a shared household, they may choose to keep a copy of the children and items as they stood at that moment. That copy stops receiving updates from you, but it remains on their device and under their control.

Apple services

School Corral relies on Apple services for iCloud storage and sharing, App Store purchases, subscriptions, and purchase restoration. Apple processes information for those services under its own terms and privacy policy. Mighty Yak Labs does not receive your payment-card information.

Permissions

School Corral may request access to the camera or photo library for flyers, the microphone and speech recognition for voice capture, notifications for reminders, and iCloud for sync. These permissions are used only to provide the feature you choose. You can change permissions in iPhone Settings.

Website data

This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. Like most websites, its hosting provider may process limited technical request information—such as IP address, browser type, and request time—to deliver and protect the site.

Retention and deletion

You control content in School Corral. Deleting items in the app removes them from the active app database and syncs that deletion to your other devices and to anyone you share a household with. Removing the app deletes its local copy; information stored in iCloud remains subject to your iCloud settings and Apple's retention practices. A copy kept by someone who has left a shared household is under their control, not yours.

Children's privacy

School Corral is designed for parents and caregivers, not for direct use by children. Mighty Yak Labs does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Child-related information entered by an adult remains on that adult's device and private iCloud account, and is visible to anyone that adult shares a household with, as described above.

Changes and questions

We may update this policy as School Corral changes. The current effective date will always appear at the top. For help, visit the School Corral Support page or email support@schoolcorral.com.

Email updates

This section covers the optional email list you can join from this website. It is separate from the app: joining the list is not required to use School Corral, and the app does not send us your email address.

What we collect

If you sign up for email updates, we collect:

• Your email address
• Your first and last name, if you choose to give them (both optional)
• The date and time you signed up, the page you signed up from, the exact consent wording shown to you, and the IP address you signed up from

We collect that last group solely so we can demonstrate that you gave us permission. We don't use it for anything else.

Why we collect it

To send you occasional emails about our apps — new features, releases, and beta invites.

Our legal basis

Your consent.We only email you if you ticked the consent box and then clicked the confirmation link we sent. You can withdraw that consent at any time, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it: click “unsubscribe” in any email. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

Who we share it with

We use EmailOctopus (Three Hearts Digital Ltd, 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom) to store our mailing list and send our emails. They act as our data processor under a data processing agreement, and they store subscriber data on servers in Ireland (EU).

We don't sell your email address. We don't rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers. Nobody else gets it.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe, or until you've gone 24 months without opening any of our emails — whichever comes first. Before we remove an inactive subscriber, we'll send one email asking whether you'd like to stay.

When you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record of the unsubscribe itself so we don't accidentally email you again.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Show you the personal data we hold about you
• Correct anything that's wrong
• Delete it entirely
• Send you a copy in a portable format
• Stop processing it

Email privacy@schoolcorral.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't charge you and we won't ask why.

If you're in a region with a data protection authority, you also have the right to complain to them.

Age

Our email updates are for adults. You must be 18 or older to sign up. We don't knowingly collect email addresses from children. If you believe a child has signed up, email privacy@schoolcorral.com and we'll delete the record.
